Ok, so today I’m going to vent about something that really gets under my skin.




Smokers, and not just because they smoke cancer sticks that fill the environment with toxic fumes, but the fact that most of them throw their cigarette butts on the ground, or out their car windows. WTF?????????????


Let me just say that I get it, that smoking is an addiction, and not an easy one to break and I won’t even remind you of what it does to your lungs or the lungs of anyone who is around you while you smoke.

What really gets me, is ppl you don’t have to throw the butts on the ground. It should be considered littering and it is seriously bad for the environment. This is what they are made of, cellulose acetate, a synthetic plastic-like substance used commonly for photographic films, plasticiser, and triacetin (glycerol triacetate), is applied to bond the fibers. Then there is Nicotine which is a powerful insecticide and among the deadliest of all plant products in its pure form.

So what do you think will happen to it (cancer sticks) over time, while it’s left laying around on the ground? Let me tell you, the nicotine contained in 200 leftover cigarette butts, is enough to kill a full-sized human being. Just because the breakdown process may take 18 months to 10 years doesnt make it any less bad.

Honestly, why would you throw it on the ground? I want to know? Do you care so little about our planet, or other human beings that you would carelessly just toss such deadly trash on the ground, cause you do know it is the same as freakin trash but worse right? I personally think there should be a huge fine for throwing cigarette butts on the ground.

Let me just say, more power to those of you that choose to smoke those cancer sticks in the privacy of your own home, that is your right. However I am asking you to just not litter up the planet that the rest of us want to enjoy. Thank you.
