^^^ Very well said...Right on target. Also I would add to 'learn the ropes' we (as in volunteers) can take up the I485 initiative and work towards its success. That will certainly give us valuable exposure to build long term relationships with lawmakers.

There are just too many fond memories to share in one post... but I do want to specially thank leo2606 who drove 70 miles to pick up myself, venkygct, vsraja and punjabi at the Dulles airport and then took us out for breakfast, then to the rally venue, then for lunch, finally to a hotel room we had booked for a quick shower, basically... like a shadow he was with us wherever we wanted to go! And... whenever we thanked him (and gdhiren who co-ordinated pickups/dropoffs for many others like the 4 of us) these guys, instead of saying something like "You are welcome", would profusely thank us for flying in!
Its people... like leo2606 and gdhiren.. and many others are the true strength of IV!
abhijitp, You deserve to be the MAN OF THE RALLY (I don't like to argue with ladies so I am choosing MAN :)) Whaever crowd we had at the rally the credit goes to you for the Partner thread which really helped increase the attendance and eventually out of area crowd beat the locals. My priroty date is August-2006 in EB-3. Last year i asked my employer to file in EB2 PERM petion and he has agreed for it. They applied my PERM application in August 1st 2010 in EB-2. I have been communicating the petition status with my attorney since my petion has been filed with DOL. When i contacted my attorney's office to check the petion status, they said my PERM applicant is in-processing status all the time. Finally, i requested my attorney saying write a wirtten letter to the Department of Labor in last week. He called me yesterday and said your application has been approved the DOL in August 2010. But his office never recived any hard copy or email. When they checked the PERM status, they never saw the petion was in approved status. Today when the checked the petition satus, they can see the application has been approved in Auguest and it is now exipired.
Please let me know what options i have.
Can i re-appeal with the DOL? I am not sure wherether my company has filed or not. Can i file a lawsuite on DOL or my current employeer?

What those laywers will do without people and cases? Remember that their jobs cannot be portable as the law of land is totally different in other countries :D

Agreed, It is very unfortunate for people stuck in backlogs and I feel your pain... But would you rather have seen USCIS waste over 40000 visas by the end of the year without any PD movement (as reported by some on this forum)? We would have had another thread here blasting the inefficiency and unfairness of USCIS.
Bottomline, I would not like to work in USCIS right now.. They are basically damned if they do, damned if they dont. That said, I do hope that BECs get their act together like USCIS is trying to and get everyones labor cleared by the deadline before the next retrogression hits.
I mean even if some of guys had their PD current, USCIS did not approve the I-485. They said that all the I-485's are preadjudicated but did we see flood of approvals....? NO... To say that 40000 visas will be wasted is wrong. I bet there are 40000 Employment based 485's pending at USCIS right now with PD's before 2005. So why not make PD 2005? This is just a stunt by USCIS to get as many I-485 applications and get money from EAD and AP for 4-5 years... Thats my thought...! Any buyers!!!

I think it will take almost a month before there is significant number of members who sign up for recurring payments. So, keep it up and spread the word.

We dont really have a month. The work on the bill is happening even now behind the scene. We wish to put in more resources and plan for more resources in the coming months. We are still getting a lot of bounced messages. people have given us email ids like abcd@abcd.com. Well, to such people we say that they will not be hearing any announcements from IV when we send a newsletter with announcements. And sometimes sensitive information will be given by phone or to contributing members only. So all must update their profile with full information and signup for recurring contributions. We may not make sensitive updates public on the forum. This will be an incentive for people to sign up for monthly contributions.

The second reason is fund raising. I have a fundraising goal of 5$00 this year ans starting out early will give me a higher probablity of meeting my goal or exceeding it. I am going to be writing letters to my friends/ family to contribute towards IV as early as next week. I will see if I can raise atleast 150 to 200$ by doing that. I am going to organize a summer BBQ and have a cover charge or put a donation box at the BBQ. I will see how much I can raise doing that. My third event will be around November. I was planning on partnering with some friends and baking some pie's, puff pastry's, Cookies, kebobs and selling them at a local farmers maket on a saturday. Hopefully I will raise more than $500 doing all these. This should be a fun filled year for me.

In the process, you are going to have some fun as well.
All you need to do now, is sign up with Team IV. You can sustain or start your committment to fitness training and sign up for one of the Team IV or local events. The fundraising can start as late as August and you will have plenty of time to wrap it up by January 18, 2009.
I am confident that several Team IV Members will exceed their initial goals of $300 or $500.
This is a year long, fun filled, fitness oriented way to support IV!!

I work for a big computer company and my company policy is that i work from home (else i will loose some company benefits if i work from company's office).
I have a copy of my Labor Cert forwarded to me by Dallas Backlog center. Here is what i see :
On ETA-750 Part A: Item 7: "Address where Alien will work" = Illinois
On ETA-750 Part B: Item 7: "Address in US where Alien will reside" = Virginia
Given the above facts, and given GC is for a future job, What are your thoughts on my questions below?
1. Do i have to go back to IL or VA before I-485 petition ?
2. OR, Can i work from anywhere, like i do today, as my company has home based/iWork policy and apply for I-485?

Hi All,
I have just signed up for $20 contribution per month. Already contributed about $250 dollars until now.
I tried to get many of my friends in OHIO to enroll, but they just don't trust these efforts. I tried to convince them a lot but, they think everything will be resolved automatically and especially does not want to contribute even a $ for these kind of efforts. It's a shame on us that we tend to be the same backhome as well as here. Just use and use for free and never contribute anything back.
