One of my close friends is considering running the DC 10 miler with me. She never ran or walked a race before. Hopefully she will decide to atleast walk before the end of the day. That will be good for both of us

Now this is what is going to happen.
Because DOS and USCIS screwed up big time playing loosely with laws and expecting no reprisals for their actions, they will now beg/borrow for the lost visa numbers and make them available for July filers.
I see no escape route for the mess up. Rice, who did not pay any attention to this fisco gave her on the lip casual response to MSNBC reporter.
It looks like this issue is bigger than Iraq from security stand point of view and also with latest information of Al-Qaeda making statements to get into US for attacks.
I would be very surprised if they start working on cases submitted in July even if current and they get extra visa numbers. There are people like me who had submitted thier I-485s (with I-140) under EB2 back in August 2006 and were current back then. I'm still waiting.

A note of caution, please just share personal anecdotes. All formal lawmaker meeting minutes need to be forwarded directly to the IV lobby day event coordinators and IV core members only.
Let the people who missed the rally also miss the excellent chance of sharing our strategy and law maker information.
Also be mindful of addressing people by their real names. It is good that you can put names to IV handles but please protect their privacy, unless they themselves are ok sharing their names publically. You can always use PMs.

Can you post links to any official memo with regards to this change if you happen to find. This will clear the confusion. I do not think AC21 amendment changes anything specific to spill over visa allocation. Anyway.. I am trying to find the link to any official memo and will post if I find any

I got my Card Production ordered email yesterday at 9:00 PM and now at 7:20 AM I get mail saying I have been registered at permenent resident. So looks like the department that registers GC is slower than the guys who print the actual card. Has any one else seen this kind of reverse order of mails?

My question is what will the attorneys and para legals do in the US, if they don't find sufficient cases to sustain their operation? What they studied here is not portable for other countries like software.

In theory, it is a wonderful question but in practically answer depends upon with which country you are refering the situation. In India, THE dog from USA
with hi "dogginess" certificate can project himself as "Lion". And practically I am seriously doubting the real standard of US Higher degree certification based on teh experiences so far what I have achieved working here many years. It is our problem that we take this shit to enroll in US based degree programs though you are a degree holder from India. This at least seems to be true for computer/electronics engineering related courses. It may not be true for all other courses. More or less I am beliver of the thought that this whole US education system at least for engineering and management runs on the basis of slave mentality of Indian and Chinese people. Perhaps it might be very good and of high standard 20 years back with comparision to educational systems in India/China then but now I have serious doubts.

For EB3 (All countries) to see some light, the changes made recently to the allocation of excess visa, spill over and also to over subscribed countries need to be revisited. Not sure, what triggered USCIS / DOS to revise the interpretation after so many years. Did IV had any role on this, or not .. do not know.. I ask this as based on all forum updates, IV appears to have little success in the Admin Fix area. I have posted this so many times in various threads and did not get an answer, may be there is none. If the interpretation was somewhat like before, EB2 /3 both would have got the spillover... and all would have benefited in the order of PD. Now with the new interpretation. all excess / spillover visa just goes only to 2 countries (EB2 India / China). Looking at the latest numbers based on USCIS website, China has far less cases compared in India based on the cut-off date, which is good for India (EB2), as they now consume a big chunk of the numbers and rest are left out for now. I am not sure, what is opinion on this from folks from ROW (EB3) on this. Does IV has any comment on this... My wife is in India for the last year to get new H1-B (6 years completed)
She has a valid dependant visa till May 2008
Based on new rule, she applied to reclaim 3 years of H4 for H1-B.
H1-B is approved, she is going to Chennai, India for stamping.
If for some reason H1 is denied, can she come back as dependant?
Yes ..she can use H4 if H1 is denied. Make sure consulate don`t cancel the H4 visa and the time of H1 B visa interview.

Our main goal is only to get enough volunteers to participate in this activity in DC for their own Green card. Decisions regarding number of volunteers have to be done quickly to get appointments, so send this wherever you can.
